You wouldn't normally think that we as humans don't have anything at all to learn from things as simple as plants, but boy oh boy are we wrong.
1. Lets start at the very beginning. When a plant is first put into soil, all hope is lost. Thinking it would start to grow immediately is only logical, but what many forget: it has to germinate first before the plant could start to grow. The rate at which this process is developing can make one believe that the seedling has died even before the process started. Weeks later and moments before negativity strikes, your eye catches a small little leaf sticking out above the ground. The lesson we can learn here is to never give up on life, even if life gives up on you.
2. Plants have a unique approach towards their circumstances. When a plant or tree is faced with harsh winds and stormy weather, their roots tend to grow deeper and deeper into the ground. This then supports the tree even more during the stormy seasons. Without the wind, however, the roots would never grow as deep and be as strong as they are. The lesson: don't let your circumstances break you, rather use it to grow stronger.
3. Changing with the seasons and adapting to the weather is another breathtaking quality of a plant. A plant adjusts in order to survive. They grow towards the light and their roots towards the water source. The lesson: embrace change when it comes your way.
4. A lot of times when a plant gets chopped off or hurt, they take some time to heal and then grow again. They don't stay down or give up, they produce a whole new, fresh and full of life leaf/flower. The lesson: next time someone chops down your dream, take some time and develop an ever bigger and better dream.
5. The biggest lesson we should observe from them is how they would never sell themselves short. Plants don't have a low self esteem and they do not have a fixed limit on how tall they could grow. They just grow and grow. The lesson: Don't limit yourself, rather make some space and watch how you surprise yourself.
